Currently looking for a Manufacturing Utility Worker to fill an opening with a company located in East Hartford, Connecticut. Interested candidates must have completed a Manufacturing Certification Program and have 0-1 year of previous machining experience.
Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this job is to be responsible for multiple tasks including assembly, cleaning parts, part marking, movement of hardware and general shop utility tasks.
Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Utility Worker:
  • Receive work instructions, operation sheets, setup sheets from department supervision indicating such information as part and operation number to be performed.
  • Sets up and adjusts various manufacturing equipment and tooling in accordance with approved work instructions.
  • Reads travelers and shop paperwork to determine manufacturing steps.
  • Uses precision or standard measuring devices such as scales, inside and outside micrometers, dial indicators, Vernier scales, fixed frame gauges or special gauges, profile meters, etc. to check machined dimensions and surface finishes conforming to customer prints and/or specifications.
  • Exercises care in handling of material.
  • General shop utility tasks such as moving material between operations, gathering and delivering tooling, and daily clean-up.
