Currently looking for a Quality Inspector to fill an opening with a company located in East Hartford, Connecticut. Interested candidates must hold a High School Diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Aerospace Manufacturing environment.
This company is a global manufacturer of technically advanced specialty materials and complex components. Their products support diverse markets and industries such as aerospace and defense, oil & gas, electrical energy, medical, automotive, and other industrial markets.
Responsibilities of the Quality Inspector:
  • Works from work instructions, blueprints, engineering drawings, and other specific procedures
  • Perform inspections as required utilizing conventional layout inspection techniques and equipment
  • Plan, create, and verify CMM Programs using PC-DMIS offline using CAD models and/or blueprints
  • Plan, schedule, and optimize the utilization of resources including CMM and inspection equipment
  • Set-up and operate CMMs to perform inspection
  • Support receiving, in-process, and final inspection
  • Creates, completes, and compiles necessary documentation related to Quality Inspection as per OEM and ISO/AS standards
  • Assist others with inspection technique
  • Support other Quality Department functions as needed
  • Support the Quality Management System and perform 1st piece, in-process, final, and source inspections as required by work instructions
Requirements of the Quality Inspector:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in Aerospace Manufacturing environment
  • Strong background concerning the usage and care of precision measuring tools and equipment
  • Ability to effectively read and understand blueprints, engineering documents, inspection manuals and procedures
  • Strong metrology, blueprint reading, and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Working knowledge of SPC required
  • Ability to program and operate DCC CMM's with CAD interface (PCDMIS and Unigraphics preferred)
  • Demonstrates an understanding of related aerospace ISO and AS requirements
  • Maintains accuracy and attention to detail at all times and completes tasks in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of dimensional, visual and mechanical inspection processes
