Human Resource Generalist

Currently looking for a Human Resource Generalist to fill an opening with a company located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Interested candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources  and have 3-7 years of experience  in human resources in a non-union manufacturing environment.
Requirements of the Human Resource (HR) Generalist:
This position will provide support to our Indianapolis Retail Display facility and will also have HR responsibilities for three Sheet Plants located in St. Anthony, IN, Elizabethton, TN, and Ashland City, TN.  The total full-time population between these four facilities is approximately 300 employees.  We are looking for a highly motivated, engaged, committed individual that has an interest and background in Human Resources in a manufacturing environment.

The Human Resource Generalist will work collaboratively with the Regional Human Resource Manager (who is based in Charlotte, NC) and local facility management providing superior human resources services to our employees and the facility.  This position will support a broad range of human resource activities including employee engagement, performance management, recruitment and selection, equal employment, discipline tracking, employee relations, employee benefits, compliance training, employment transactions in SAP, and maintenance of personnel files.   This is a “hands on” position that requires interaction and visibility with all levels of the organization across all shifts.
Requirements of the Human Resource (HR) Generalist:
Experience in human resources in a non-union manufacturing environment (3-7 years) and must demonstrate leadership potential for career growth and relocation opportunities in the future. 

Bachelor of Science degree in human resources, business or a related field is required for consideration. 

Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment is highly desirable. 

This role is ideal for someone who is still near the beginning of their career in Human Resources and desires a wide range of experience in a variety of areas that are critical to becoming a talented HR professional.

Willingness to be flexible as it relates to work hours, work location, and travel during the week (30%-50% over night travel).  

Candidates must be customer focused, have excellent problem solving, organizational, communication, and people skills.
