Logistics Supervisor

Plans the Logistics Budget and Goals and Objectives
-by preparing and controlling the Logistics Budget according to the company’s strategy and policies and objectives;
-by gathering information, and analyzing the internal and external Transportation environment as it impacts the company and develop Transportation strategies accordingly;
-by establishing metrics, and meeting targets for staff;
-by performing all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned;
-by optimizing resources, including HR, materials, and finances.
Implements the Budget
-by holding accountability for the results, and explaining them to Management and Staff;
-by maximizing cost effectiveness  through cost saving projects;
-by making decisions in authorized areas;
-by receiving opinions, and proposals from subordinates and by working as a team.
Supervises Business Support Operations
-by ensuring the daily functions of the Logistics team, including domestic and international logistics;
-by providing optimal logistics support to the Business Divisions;
-by working closely with Business, to assist in obtaining quotes for new customers and business;
-by resolving issues with customers.
Supervises Staff
-by providing direction and delegating responsibilities to subordinate staff and evaluating their work, thereby ensuring that the team’s
overall goals are met;
-by coordinating work schedules;
-by giving performance feedback and conducting performance evaluations;
-and by authorizing and advising staff expenses.

-by acting on constructive feedback from peers, Supervisors, and customers to enhance efficiency; and by examining departmental work processes, administrative procedures, etc., and recommending changes where appropriate.
Keeps Supervisors Informed:
-by reporting problems immediately to Supervisors verbally or in writing, in order to avoid confusion and problems; and by regularly
updating Supervisors of work progress and or status.
Complies with Internal Policies and Legal Requirements:
-by following existing and new internal policies; by studying existing and new compliance regulations, and practices; by anticipating future regulations; by enforcing adherence to requirements; by reporting, documenting, and filing reports, as necessary; and by advising Management as necessary.
Manages Time and Resources:
-by using time efficiently, prioritizing and focusing work duties; by using resources provided by the Company ( i.e. monies, information
tools, materials) in an effective and efficient manner.
Manages Tasks:
-by taking the appropriate actions to ensure that tasks are accomplished accurately and by the designated deadline.
Essential Job Requirements
Requirements and Working Environment
Must be able to travel on business or work beyond normal business hours as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications Needed
- At least 5 years of experience in Transportation or Logistics.
- Hazmat certification.
- Experience in distribution network optimization analysis and Transportation (international and domestic) cost studies.
Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
