Hands-On Training Coordinator (Manufacturing)

Position Summary:
The Training Coordinator will conduct new hire orientation, training and coordination of continued new hire training within a manufacturing plant. 
Provide training to existing employees in regards to safety and quality, as it pertains to manufacturing processes. 
Assist with 5-S / Lean Manufacturing training and implementation. 
Assist the OD&D Specialist with plant leadership to determine areas where additional training is required. 
Assist with development of training manuals and training schedules.
 Key Duties & Responsibilities:
1.      Conduct New Hire Orientation
2.      Develop and deliver New Hire Training
3.      Conduct 5-S training
4.      Conduct Lean manufacturing training
5.      Conduct Safety and Quality training
6.      Conduct any other  training as needed
7.      Assist with 5-S and Lean implementation
8.      Assist with running Kaizen events
9.      When involved with New Employee Orientation, Plant Trainer will be on the floor assisting employees with understanding work orders, blue prints, work instructions, etc., as needed.
10.   Prepare PPE for New Employee Orientation
11.   Assist the Plant Organization and Development Specialist/Coordinator as needed.
12.   Collect training data, feedback, surveys of the training processes and needs.
13.   Other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
College degree or equivalent experience focused on organizational development and training in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to travel to other Company locations in the United States for training and to work remotely in advance of the opening of the Plainfield, CT plant.
Experience in the development and delivery of training programs focused on:
  • Manufacturing processes
  • Truck bodybuilding would be desirable
  • 5-S principles
  • Lean manufacturing principles
  • Continuous Improvement principles
  • Kaizen events 
Physical Requirements: 
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required. Also, this job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.   
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
