Position Summary: 
The Corporate Buyer-Planner will plan and manage the procurement of both direct LCC (Low Cost Country) material for the support of the corporate sourcing plan and corporate manufacturing plan based upon the S&OP and Business Plan.
 
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Plan and manage the procurement of both direct LCC material for the support of the corporate sourcing plan and corporate manufacturing plan bases on S&OP and Business Plan.
  2. Procure and/or schedule an inbound supply chain to align with a manufacturing SOP while attaining corporate inventory objectives/targets.  Adhere to corporate and SOX policies and guidelines.
  3. Ensure that purchasing documents (i.e. purchase orders), are processed completely and accurately and submitted on-time to suppliers; responsible for maintaining correct costs and data entry and follow the complete procurement process from P/O submission to P/O receipt.
  4. Administer, in conjunction with materials and QA management, internal / external supplier quality accountability via a non-conformance reporting system.
  5. Monitor and report supplier on-time delivery; communicating and working through any issues that could impact the manufacturing process and elevating concerns as necessary. 
  6. Work closely with corporate commodity management as well as with a 3rd party logistics carrier and Corporate Logistics Manager.  Persistently look for and communicate opportunities for cost reduction / avoidance.
  7. Ensure all documents are correct for import purposes, invoice preparation for wire payment, packing slips, inspection sheet.
  8. Ensure Lacey Act/ISF paperwork is complete and sent to importer.
  9. Verify HTS tariff codes.
  10. Create and communicate to the Logistics Manager shipment/delivery/schedule for LCC material.
  11. Other duties as assigned.      
 
Required-Minimum Qualifications: 

BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management preferred
Understanding of Supply Chain configuration and principles
Hands-on experience in Buyer-Planner role in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of MPS/MRP systems.  Working knowledge of AS/400 and JD Edwards is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical skills.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Some travel required.
Flexible hours to coincide with overseas suppliers.       


Physical Requirements:
Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required.  Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or Lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files, computer printouts on occasion.
 
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
